The best credit card depends solely on you. It depends on your financial situation and what your spending habits are. As others have stated Visa and Mastercard are pretty much accepted anywhere, however, American Express offers very good cards too, some that give excellent cash back rewards and other incentives that out-do Visa and Mastercard.
The biggest thing is determining what you want from your card. Do you want low interest rates? A rewards program? 0% interest?
Once you determine what you want out of your card, and what your credit score is you can determine what credit card is best for you.
Off the top of my head I can recommend a few cards that may be suitable…
Chase Flexible Rewards Platinum Visa
One from American Express
Starwood from American Express
These are only a few and without knowing what you want, are just a guess.
